Semaglutide injection is used to treat type 2 diabetes, and promote weight loss. It is used together with diet and exercise to help control your blood sugar. This medicine is also used to lower the risk of heart attack, stroke, or death in patients with type 2 diabetes and heart or blood vessel disease. Semaglutide is a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist.

This medicine is also used together with diet and exercise to help lose weight and keep the weight off in patients with obesity caused by certain conditions. Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects.

Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention. Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Dxcess air or gas in the stomach or intestines
Gaseous stomach pain
Heartburn
Passing gas
Recurrent fever
Stomach discomfort, fullness, or pain
Yellow eyes or skin
